What is GMO? GMO or Genetically Modified Organisms also known as GEO or Genetically Engineered Organisms is organism whose genetic structure has been changed or altered using genetic engineering. The issue of GMO boomed when consumers become aware of what they are eating. Most of the commercial products being sold to the public has GMO.
Genetically Modified Foods (GM Foods) is most commonly coined to crops created for human or animal consumption using molecular biology. There have been a continuing debate on GMO and has been in the news lately. This infographic discusses what you need to know about Prop 37 or Proposition 37: The California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act which will require manufacturers to label all food items that contain genetically engineered ingredients. It also includes prohibition of using the word "Natural" in a food label. Organic foods that are certified would be exempt.
