Strawberry Tiramisu is a healthier and much fresher version of the classic Tiramisu which is commonly made with lady fingers dipped in espresso coffee, covered by whipped cream or mascarpone, and cocoa powder.
The Italian name Tiramisu means literally "pick me up" which metaphorically speaking leads to "make me happy", in reference to the high quantity of caffeine found in espresso coffee. There several different stories as when and where the tiramisu’ was first made. Some people believe its birthplace can be found in Siena, a city in Northern Italy. Others believe it was first made near Venice in 1969. Whatever its origin might have been, the tiramisu’ is one of the most loved and popular dessert of the Italian cuisine, along with its many variations.
